Notice of Survey Tool Upgrade and Report Link Changes

Dear YMCA Survey Tool Users, This email is intended to let you know about a recent upgrade to the latest version of the YMCA Survey Tool. This upgrade brings with it new features and functionality for conducting surveys, sending reminder e-mails, tracking respondents, and more! (see below NEW FEATURES) However, one of the new features (tighter security to protect respondent data) has brought with it an unexpected issue that will impact your current survey report links.

CHANGE TO REPORT LINKS This change is reflected in the Reporting Section of the application. It is important to note that ALL report links have changed since the upgrade. You will notice that the report links used for report distribution now contain an extra parameter at the end of the link. For example: Old link: http://surveys.ymcaexchange.org/report/163592/183730/c768 New link: http://surveys.ymcaexchange.org/report/163592/183730/17969d2d?afterVoting=68ef608d2428 If you use report links to distribute reporting data, it will be in your best interest to re-distribute the updated new links to the colleagues you work with (and have them update their favorites, etc.). If an old report link is accessed, the data will still be there, but not all functionality will be available (for example --- the report by respondent feature will not be available by the old link). To get the new report links, you can follow the instructions below for surveys that you have created: - Click on the Report tab next to a survey - Click on the Publish tab next to any report associated with that survey - Find the report URL in the text box under step 1: Report Link. You can copy and paste that link into any message to be distributed among your colleagues. MORE RESPONDENT FUNCTIONALITY: -"Calendar" displays a calendar next to a text field for selecting dates. -"Slider" response: replaces numeric input with a slider control, returning data as a numeric value; -"Exclusive" disables all other checkboxes in a question if a respondent selects a checkbox marked exclusive (for example "n/a"); -Respondent registration: allowing users to create a registration form that respondents can access with a password, and form authentication, replacing standard password protection for surveys with a log-in and password. -Improved multilingual functionality -Ability to attach files to e-mail reminders INCREASED REPORTING FUNCTIONALITY: -More statistical calculations in reports and graphs with average values -New drilldown capabilities for rating questions -More comprehensive filtering for numeric data -Exporting summary reports to Microsoft Excel NEW PLUG-INS FEATURES offer ability to: -Pinpoint a respondent's location by city, state, country and postal code -Capture IP addresses -Restrict access to the survey based on an IP address -Randomize and weight questions -Redirect users based on a quota or on the answers they provide and to specify the hours that a survey will be available (e.g. 9 a.m. until 6 p.m) OTHER NEAT FEATURES (for all you “techies” out there): -Option to show or hide answers in all questions based on logical conditions -New autofill options -Piping in email alerts -Remote access to the XML data representation -Complied with the Section 508 standard to allow submitting surveys using screen readers and accessible keyboards. -Full integration with Salesforce.com -Enhanced API -Tighter security -Improved CSS layout -Easier to use Enterprise Administration page interface -Ability to flag down search engine traffic by adding meta-tags to survey headers
